The third edition of the BlockchainxODS challenge was held together with the Bitcoin Association for BSV, with the aim of promoting decarbonisation.
The third BlockchainxODS challenge was to calculate and incentivise the decarbonisation provided by wooded areas, thus responding to SDG 13, to take urgent action to combat climate change and its effects, and also to SDG 15, to sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, halt and reverse land degradation, and halt biodiversity loss.
The proposed challenge was as follows:
Calculation of the CO2 absorption of a specific area of land and the subsequent monetisation of this absorption as an incentive for decarbonisation.
The project was carried out jointly with the Bitcoin Association for BSV, a non-profit association that supports the BSV Blockchain protocol and advocates for the construction of an ecosystem favourable to the regulation of cryptocurrencies, which encourages legal conduct and, at the same time, promotes digital currency and the innovation of the blockchain.
